Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the successful candidate will spearhead a premier, 100-person multidisciplinary engineering division, dual-tracking the architecture of a core enterprise Agentic AI platform alongside highly commercial, vertical-specific AI products.

You will lead a high-performing, commercial engineering division of approximately 100 professionals, including machine learning engineers, data scientists, and platform architects. Managing a direct-report layer of Engineering Directors and Principal Architects, this team operates in an agile, product-driven, and highly collaborative environment focused on shifting bleeding-edge AI code into scaled enterprise production.

As the strategic leader of the AI division, your responsibilities will include:
- Architecting and executing a high-impact product engineering roadmap focused on LLMs, LVLMs, Generative AI, and autonomous Agentic AI architectures.
- Driving the end-to-end development of proprietary, highly differentiated AI products tailored for industries including FinTech, Cybersecurity, Digital Health, and Smart Manufacturing.
- Anticipating global technology and architecture shifts to ensure the company’s product line remains ahead of enterprise competitors.
- Championing AI enablement across the wider company, establishing core platform capabilities that internal business units can easily leverage.
- Directing, scaling, and structurally optimising the 100-person engineering division to maintain a high-velocity, software-first delivery culture.
- Overseeing the core engineering of a reusable, enterprise-grade Agentic AI Orchestration Platform to accelerate internal product delivery.
- Guiding vertical product teams in deploying complex AI applications, such as automated financial risk software and privacy-preserving security modules.
- Ensuring all systems are built for high availability, enterprise integration, and immediate commercial client adoption.
- Embedding commercial performance parameters, client scalability requirements, and user feedback loops directly into early engineering cycles.
- Acting as the primary technical authority to executive leadership, enterprise client C-suites, and strategic commercial partners.
skills & experience required.
- Minimum 15+ years of total experience in commercial software engineering and advanced technology delivery.
- Minimum 8+ years in a senior executive or director capacity managing large-scale, multi-tiered engineering organisations (experience managing teams of 50 to 100+ professionals is highly preferred).
- A strong commercial profile balancing deep technical depth in machine learning with a sharp track record of delivering revenue-generating software.
- Extensive experience architecting and scaling production systems using LLMs, multi-agent frameworks, and GenAI.
- Domain expertise delivering AI enterprise software into Financial Services, Fintech, or Cybersecurity/Privacy sectors is highly preferred.
- Solid hands-on knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure, containerisation, enterprise architecture, and robust MLOps/CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven success navigating the product journey from MVP to commercial launch and large-scale enterprise customer deployment.
- Elite communication and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently translate complex technical architectures into business value for enterprise buyers and C-suite executives.
- Professional fluency in written and spoken English is required; fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin is highly advantageous for regional stakeholder engagement.
