Operations and Marketing Intern
WildChina is seeking an intern to work across our marketing and operations teams to support with our quality assurance. This is an ideal opportunity for those looking to learn how the luxury travel industry works first-hand, particularly with regards to the level of detail and assessment behind top-level service and customer care, or aspiring tour guides.
Location:
Open to both China-based hybrid applicants (Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu or Huizhou) or remote Europe-based applicants. Please see below note on working
Position type:
- Part-time (20-hours per week) internship.
- Working hours are open to discussion but will require availability in the evenings China time to accommodate guide schedules for interviews (usually between 15:00 – 21:00 China time), at least 3 days a week.
- This is a 3-month rotating internship with rolling open application.
Salary:
Stipend-based
Key Responsibilities:
Operational:
- Interviewing WildChina’s newest guides to ensure they meet language proficiency and experiential requirements
- Logging and centralizing guide feedback
- Following up with guides who received low onboarding scores to train them up on WildChina’s standards
- Cleaning up and managing WildChina’s guide database
Marketing:
- Writing up flawless and captivating guide bios
- Uploading guide bios and photos into WildChina’s client-facing system and ensuring correct formatting for optimal client presentation
- Cleaning up and managing WildChina’s client-facing guide bio database
What Makes You the Idea Candidate:
- Studying or interested in a career in the travel industry
- Bilingual: native or near-native English fluency with native or HSK 4+ Mandarin
- Strong writing skills with a knack for crafting engaging and concise content
- Comfortable and adept at learning new software
- A creative thinker with attention to detail and a passion for storytelling
- Ability to self-organize, meet deadlines, and adapt to fast-paced environments
- Passion for all things China, from culture to history to travel!
