Benelux Night Connects Business Communities Across China at the 140th Canton Fair
The Canton Fair, the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Guangzhou, and the Benelux Chamber of Commerce jointly organized Benelux Night on 17 October 2026, bringing together Belgian, Dutch, Luxembourg and Chinese business communities during the 140th Canton Fair in Guangzhou.
The evening was honoured by the presence of Mr. Liu Xiaomin, Exhibition Director of China Foreign Trade Centre Group, and Mr. Efstathios Andreou, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Guangzhou.
This year's gathering coincided with the 70th anniversary of the Canton Fair, marking seven decades of connecting international buyers with Chinese manufacturers and suppliers.
Connecting Our Three Chapters
Benelux Night was also a joint effort between the Benelux Chamber's North China (Beijing), East China (Shanghai) and South China chapters, bringing members and business partners from all three regions together in Guangzhou.
For participants, the evening offered an opportunity to connect beyond their usual regional business circles. Entrepreneurs, business leaders and international buyers exchanged experiences, strengthened existing relationships and explored potential collaborations across China.
While the Canton Fair has connected international buyers with Chinese suppliers for seven decades, Benelux Night extended these opportunities beyond the exhibition floor, creating space for conversations between companies operating in different regions and industries.
Jonathan Xu, General Manager of the Benelux Chamber in Shanghai welcomed participants on behalf of the Chamber's three chapters, emphasizing the value of sharing experiences and making introductions within the wider business community.
The gathering reflected an important part of the Chamber's mission: helping companies find the right connections, share knowledge and access opportunities across China through its nationwide network.
