China Café Zuid: China Remains a Market of Opportunities – But Adaptation Is Key

Author: Shanghai BenCham

On 8 October, the Vereniging Nederland-China (VNC) held China Café Zuid in Eindhoven, bringing together around 40 participants under the question “China: still a market full of opportunities?” The evening was organized by the VNC with the support of the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China.

The Sino Benelux Business Survey, conducted by the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China, together with our member MSA Advisory Asia, was a central topic during the evening, giving attendees a better view of how Benelux companies experience doing business in China, where they see opportunities and challenges, and how they look at their future in the market.

Jonathan Xu, General Manager of the Chamber, took part alongside Brian Blömer of MSA Advisory Asia, Mathijs de Boer of Rabobank and Mr. Yuan Jin, Economic and Commercial Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy. The discussion also covered the Chinese government’s perspective, China Plus One strategies, and the importance of localization, speed and cooperation for companies doing business in China.

The Benelux Chamber of Commerce will present the results of the 2026 Sino Benelux Business Survey during a dedicated event in Shanghai on 29 October. If you are interested in attending, feel free to register here.

We thank the VNC for the invitation and organization, Lianne Baaij for moderating, St Anny Food for sponsoring, and all speakers and participants for the engaging discussions.
