DaWo Launches Junior Summer Legal Camp for Aspiring Young Lawyers in Shanghai
DaWo Law Firm Shanghai and DaWo Academy will host a five-day Junior Summer Legal Camp from 29 June to 3 July in Shanghai, offering students aged 16 to 19 a first-hand introduction to the legal profession.
Organised as part of DaWo’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme, the camp is designed for young people with a genuine interest in law, business, and international affairs. Conducted in English, the programme will welcome a small group of 6 to 10 participants, ensuring close guidance from practising lawyers and partners at DaWo.
Throughout the week, students will explore key areas of law including intellectual property, contract law, employment law, civil law, dispute resolution, international trade, evidence and procedure, corporate governance, and the Chinese legal system. Morning sessions will focus on legal theory, while afternoon workshops will give participants the opportunity to apply what they have learned through practical exercises, case studies, negotiation tasks, and legal reasoning activities.
A key highlight of the programme will be the Moot Court on the final day. Participants will work in teams on a realistic commercial dispute prepared by DaWo lawyers, gather evidence, develop legal arguments, and present their case before a simulated tribunal. Each team will be mentored by a dedicated DaWo lawyer from case assignment through to final submissions.
The camp aims to provide practical legal insight that goes beyond the classroom, helping participants understand what lawyers do, how legal cases unfold, and how arguments are built and presented in a professional setting.
Applications are now open. Interested students should submit a motivation letter and CV, along with details of their nationality, languages spoken, age, current year of study, and any universities or schools they are considering for future legal studies.
No prior legal knowledge is required. Selection will be based on the applicant’s motivation letter and CV, with DaWo encouraging applications from students of all nationalities.
Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive an official DaWo Academy Certificate of Participation, recognising their engagement and achievement during the camp. Full programme details can be found here.
Applications should be submitted to info@dawo-lf.com.
