Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com is deepening its presence in the Benelux region with the opening of a major new distribution center in Willebroek, Belgium. The facility, operated through JD.com's logistics arm, JD Logistics, spans nearly 48,000 square meters at Park De Hulst — making it the largest warehouse on that site, which is owned by real estate group Montea.
The site previously served as a logistics hub for Decathlon, and its location offers clear strategic advantages: it sits between Antwerp and Brussels, with easy access to the Brussels-Scheldt Canal and the Willebroek container terminal.
The new hub is set to serve as a springboard for JD.com to expand its e-commerce operations across both Belgium and Luxembourg, reinforcing Belgium's role as a logistics gateway for Chinese companies entering the European market.
The investment adds JD.com to a growing list of Chinese firms establishing operational footholds in the Benelux region, underscoring the continued appeal of Belgium's central European location and strong logistics infrastructure to international e-commerce players.
