On behalf of the Chairman, the President, and the Executive Committee of the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in East China (Shanghai), we are pleased to inform you that Mr. Jonathan Xu has been appointed General Manager, effective 1 January 2026.
Following a selection process led by the President, including interviews with multiple candidates, the Executive Committee selected Jonathan for the role. This appointment aims to ensure continuity and stability as the Chamber enters 2026.

Jonathan joined the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai in February 2023 as a part-time Marketing and Events Manager, during a period when the Chamber was rebuilding its activities and membership base. Over the past three years, and while working under two successive General Managers, he has gradually taken on broader responsibilities and now serves as Deputy General Manager and Commercial Director.
During this time, he has contributed to the Chamber’s development, supporting the growth of the membership base from approximately 65 members to over 200 members. In his current role, Jonathan works closely with member companies, partners, and stakeholders to support business connections between Benelux companies and East China.
He is involved in member engagement, government and institutional relations, and business-oriented events and programs, including initiatives such as refreshed branding efforts and the Intern2China program, with a focus on practical outcomes for members.
Further communication on upcoming activities and priorities will follow.
The Board, the Executive Committee, and the Chamber team wish Jonathan every success in his new role and are confident that, together with the team, he will continue to support the Chamber’s mission and the interests of its member companies.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Chamber team.
